Came accross this brilliant abstract comics<\/a> page by Ibn al Rabin<\/a>, real name Mathieu Baillif, from Gen\u00e8ve. Apparently this had its first life as a photocopied fanzine. The original page (in real size) you can find here<\/a>. I have no idea if this is in any way influenced by George Spencer Brown<\/a>‘s calculus of distinctions; but Andrei Molotiu<\/a> informed me that Baillif is a mathematician, so that is a real possibillity. This calculus is sometimes explained using rectangles, below an example taken from ‘Form Dynamics<\/a>‘. The whole existence of abstract comics came to my attention through a post by crystalpunk<\/a>.<\/p>\n
